Currently, Alberta is at a disadvantage to other provinces, sending thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in local revenue potential elsewhere. These aren't just celebrity jobs and million dollar pay cheques; they are the jobs of hard-working Albertans and revenue for local businesses across Alberta.
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?
The existing funding model in place by the Alberta Government is discouraging producers from choosing Alberta for their productions because other provinces offer a more streamlined, predictable, and scalable tax credit system.
HOW CAN IT BE FIXED?
Get involved with Keep Alberta Rolling and generate awareness that the film and television industry exists in Alberta and is a viable source of economic development by talking to friends and family, and writing to your MLA that action needs to be taken to change Alberta's film production tax credit system.
