Interested in working in the Alberta Screen Industry or want to learn more about the jobs on and off set? Here is a list of the key unions, guilds, and societies that service Alberta's productions:

Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists

The local branch of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) representing 25,000 professional performers across Canada, with over 740 of them living right here in Alberta.

Alberta Post Production Association

The experts that complete the production process after the last frame is shot/recorded. APPA applies technology oriented creative skills to effectively deliver high quality finished stories.

Alberta Media Production Industries Association

AMPIA’s primary role is representing our membership throughout the province, disseminating information, providing professional development opportunities for members, marketing on their behalf and seeking avenues towards  increased funding  for the development and production of media projects in the province. The organization also strives to foster an environment in which Albertans can create content reflecting our point of view to Albertans, to the rest of Canada and to the world.

Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers

The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers exists to fuel filmmakers, support storytellers, and connect the cinematic community.

Directors Guild of Canada

The Alberta District Council of The Director’s Guild of Canada is part of a national labour organization which represents key creative and logistical personnel in the film and television industries.

International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees

IATSE 210 represents Entertainment Industry Professionals working in the Northern Alberta region. Our Members work on Stage and Motion Picture / Television Projects as well as live theatre, concerts and in scene shops.

IATSE 212 represents Entertainment Industry Professionals working in the Southern Alberta region. Our Members work on Stage and Motion Picture / Television Projects as well as live theatre, concerts and in scene shops.

The Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta

The Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta (FAVA) is a not-for-profit, charitable society that exists to facilitate and support the creation, exhibition, distribution, and preservation of independent film, video and new media art in Northern Alberta.

International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees

The ICG | 669 membership is involved in all aspects of film and television that pertains to the camera. Our membership consists of Directors of Photography, Camera Operators, Camera Assistants, Unit Publicists, Unit Still Photographers, Electronic Camera people, Video Assist, Digital Engineers and Technicians, Data Management Technicians and Camera Trainees in all phases of filmed or electronically recorded theatrical feature films, films for television release, internet and television series productions.

Teamsters Local 362 is affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters representing drivers and caterers in the motion picture industry. Being a member of Local 362 means you and your family have the ability to build a future as you are part of a team of over 7000 members spread across the Province of Alberta and the North West Territories. The Teamsters 362 organization is proud to be a key part of communities where our members live, work and organize.
